The Charities Board has adopted an Amendment to the Charities Articles of Incorporation to create one class of member, which shall consist of one member, designated as the ‘corporate member’. The initial corporate member shall be the Rotary Club of San Marino.

This change is administrative and clarifies the relationship of control of Charities by the Club Board. Charities will continue to operate as a separate non-profit organization due to the tax deduction status of it’s operations and the Club Board will exercise final authority over budget and policy decisions by the Charities Board.

The Amendment was approved unanimously by both the Club Board and Charities Board before it was sent to the California Secretary of States office for certification.

Club member and Past District Governor Steve Garrett was instrumental in having the Amendment adopted.
