San Marino Rotary’s Annual Art Contest highlights the talent our San Marino Unified School District schools. and Clairbourn School and Southwestern Academy. Art is invaluable in nurturing creativity and humanity; it is at the heart of humanity. This is why Rotary supports student art.
Each Participant Chooses Their Own Theme. Our Panel of Judges look for a high level of artistic communication. Submissions will be judged on use of composition, creativity, and the technical aspect of the piece. These four aspects combine to produce a real feeling from artist to viewer. It is important that the artist draws the viewer in. Communication might be the very definition of art. How well does the art speak to the viewer? Composition is the art of arranging your elements to communicate your theme. Creativity is a child of imagination. Technique is the method or way the art, is done to best communicate this theme.
Students chose a theme, and a title for that theme for each entry. All entries will be sent through the art teacher. All art work will be exhibited and judged at San Marino’s Crowell Library Winners will attend the Award Ceremony Luncheon. Prizes are awarded.
