Letter to Bill Payne from Larissa Phillips’ host Rotarian, Ré Johnson of the Rotary Club of Battersea Park, London, England

Dear Bill,

I thought I would just update you with Larissa’s arrival in England. David and I met Larissa at Gatwick Airport on Saturday morning and she stayed with us that night as she could not get into her accommodation at the LSE until Sunday afternoon. As it happened, we had a Rotary event on Saturday evening and Larissa came along and met several Battersea Park Rotarians despite the fact that she was somewhat jet-lagged. She is now safely at the LSE and, hopefully, settling in well.

Larissa is a lovely young lady, easy to get along with, great fun and happy to join in with Rotary. She is already booked into the Link Weekend when she will meet up with her fellow Global Scholars in RIGB; she is also booked into the District Welcome afternoon for London Scholars at our HQ in London on 1st October (we have 26 Scholars coming into London this year), and she will be joining London Rotarians and Scholars in Stratford-upon-Avon for our District Conference in October. I am sure she will be a credit to the Rotary Club of San Marino and will fulfil her role as a Global Scholar.

If every you and your wife are in London do please come and visit us at one of our Rotary meetings.

King regards,

Ré Johnson
